Located in Boston at the corner of Landsdowne and Ipswich Streets, MGM Music Hall at Fenway is a 91,500 square foot performing arts center that is able to accommodate 5,000 patrons. YDI worked with the Fenway Sports Group on this project, and designed signage that creates iconic moments, highlights past events, and elevates sponsors. Bold exterior signage uses LED neon and features a large marquee board for upcoming events.
To make use of the open wall along the stairs to the second level, YDI developed large-scale graphics collaging flyer artwork from past shows at Fenway Park. Concertgoers on their way to the balcony section can pore over the colorful imagery of Fenway’s musical history. Overlaps within the graphics create the effect of years of applied posters accumulating on a venue wall.
Wayfinding was designed to blend into the interior of the space, with messaging to match its gold features and high-end, understated textures.
YDI designed signage for the three premium spaces at MGM Music Hall: the Truly Rooftop, the Jim Beam Distiller’s Room, and the MassMutual Lounge. Each offers a different flavor of premium experience, whether it is Truly’s open rooftop bar overlooking the Fenway District and the Boston skyline, or Jim Beam’s modern speakeasy with a private street entrance and additional adjacent dinner-style space.
