YDI

B-Side

B-Side is a hidden gem located in the basement level of Hotel Revival. It sports a swanky bar with lounge seating outside plus 3 private karaoke rooms each with their own unique styles that pay homage to a specific moment in music history.

YDI was brought on to give the space a name and unique brand to compliment the fun and funky spaces. The name ‘B-Side’ has layers of meanings including the b-side of a record, ‘b’ for basement or Baltimore and it also pairs well with the hotel’s rooftop restaurant name ‘Topside.’ In addition to the geometric logotype that plays with the tension between circular and rectangular forms YDI created a custom typeface that can be used for posters or event headlines.

While the interiors are distinctly American, the private rooms and food and drink service are Asian inspired. YDI designed the simple utilitarian menus to be filled out by guests and hand delivered to the bar. The ‘Liquid Courage’ lunch box lives up to it’s name with a can of Hotel Revival’s house beer ‘Thirstay’, a single shot of Jameson, a vile of the Chef’s house-made pickle juice and a special toy!
